is designed for a party of 4 to 6 characters between levels 10 and 13. It serves as a major climax for the Dark Sun “DSM” adventure series, though it can be played as a standalone campaign.
- Book 1:
Clash by Night
– The heroes are tasked with defending a slave tribe from an overwhelming Gith invasion. This segment is notable for its optional use of the Battlesystem rules to simulate large-scale desert warfare.
- Book 2:
City Vengeance
– After the initial conflict, the party uncovers a larger plot involving a shimmering portal deep within the Black Spine Mountains. They must navigate the treacherous politics and dangers of the region to find the source of the threat.
- Book 3:
Three Into the Mines
– The final act takes the heroes underground into ancient ruins and caverns. They eventually discover that a powerful force from the Astral Plane—a faction of Githyanki—is attempting to invade Athas by opening the “Nightmare Gate”
